Rocco Panetta

Rocco Panetta, Attorney-at-Law, joined the Office of the Italian Privacy and Data Protection Commission in Rome, in August 2001, Legal Counsel of the Chairman, Professor Stefano Rodotà and as Italian Representative at the EU Commission and Council within the activities of the European Group of Data Protection Authorities. Former Senior Associate of Baker & McKenzie’s Rome office and Ughi & Nunziante Law Firm, in Milan, where he acted as a telecommunications, IT/IP and media law, environmental and M&A’s lawyer. He has years of academic experience, gained both in Italian universities ("La Sapienza", Rome) and abroad (Warvick University, SMU Dallas, LSE London).
Currently he is Contract Professor of Private and Civil Law at the University of Rome "Roma Tre" and Contract Professor of Private Law at the Catholic University "Regina Apostolorum", Rome. Author and co-author of publications, articles and books published in Italy and abroad.
